Project Brief

In the summer of 2020, I worked as a UX/UI design intern at Heali. Heali is a startup company that helps users to personalize their nutrition plan using machine learning and augmented reality technologies. I worked in the product team with our product manager, UX researchers and engineers. My work includes conducting competitor analysis, making wireframes, interface design and prototypes for the company mobile application.I worked closely with our product manager Stephanie Dawson who works full-time at the company. She guided me through the internship and offered professional suggestions regarding work performance and career path. I really appreciated her mentorship and her trust in me in the internship. She was kind to wrote me thisrecommendation letterfor reference about my work there.Due to the fact that most of my work at Heali is covered by a NDA and has not been launched yet, I can not share much of the work in image.

Main contributions

I redesigned the onboarding flow which let the users to set intricate dietary preferences. This was the most challenging task for the team, and I’m glad I was able to provide an effective solution.
Worked on the UI design of a more user friendly search flow.
Provided UX strategy and wireframe in paywall, main page and dietary preference page. In these projects, I worked closely with our product manager in UX strategy and executed the design. Then I worked with another coworker on protoping, and communicated with the engineering team to implement the features.
Polished our product design system, brought cohesion and consistency to the visual experience of the Heali mobile app. Designed visual components for our system. Brought clearer interface design to several key pages.

I am extremely grateful for the overall experience I had working at Heali. I have spent valuable time learning about the industry, and how to contribute to the team as a designer.
